Henrico Community Authors Showcase Come see Jen Flack, author of The Guard of the Garden. In this children's fairytale, the unintentional consequences of choosing safety before beauty are brought to light. It tells the story of Havilah, a righteous savage who guards an Emperor's garden with a magic sundial. Following an official edict, the garden's magic and her very existence fall into jeopardy of becoming less than ideal, or nothing at all. Jen enjoys writing fiction and poetry for children and adults. A graduate of University of Virginia, she currently works as  a tutor, cross country coach, fitness instructor for the elderly and of course, writer.
